Subject: FIRST MINKE WHALES OF THE SEASON
Date: 04th May 2008
Yesterday our customers saw the first minke whales of the season. Signs had been good during the week, plenty of feeding birds in the Corryvreckan is a good indication. A quick sweep to the whale feeding areas paid off and two whales spent around 20 mins with the boat. OK we were late back but nobody minded. This is early for the season. We will be keen to see whether this is a passing visit or a pair setting up home for the summer

Subject: SEA TRIALS FOR CELTIC VOYAGER
Date: 29th April 2008
Our new cabin RIB was successfully launched on Sunday 27th April. Celtic Voyager was built at our workshops under our Quinquari Marine North banner. 11m in length and powered by twin 300HP outboards there is individual seating for 12 passengers inside. Standard daily tours will include IONA and WHALEWATCHING. The big picture windows and the light oatmeal lining give the cabin an airy feel.
During sea trials Celtic Voyager cruised at 26 knots fully laden and her top speed is curently around 42 knots.

Subject: NEW BOAT, NEW TOURS
Date: 16th April 2008
We are reaching the final stages of building our new cabin boat and are expecting to launch early May. With seating inside for 12 passengers and viewing platforms to front and back the boat will be used for our current WHALE WATCHING TOURS plus new a new daily tour to IONA. (Expected travel time Easdale to Iona is just over 1 hour) More details later

Subject: WHIRLPOOL SPECIALS
Date: 01st April 2008
Due to the high tides this weekend we will be running our whirlpool special trips. Timed to see the Corryvreckan at full flow we are afraid it is either an early morning or evening trip. With the strength of the tide much of the in water wildlife moves to areas with less current. This is a trip where more time in spent in both the Corryvreckan and Grey Dogs. Please contact us for further details.

Subject: SEASON STARTS WITH PLENTY OF WILDLIFE
Date: 19th March 2008
Our new crew Liz, Chris and Nick arrived on 6th March. They bring a wealth of experience to our wildlife commentaries. Skippers refreshed their Wildlife Safety Scheme accreditations this winter (along with Liz and Chris) ensuring we keep abreast of latest developments. We have been running trips recently and have seen a variety of wildlife from porpoise to otter and white tailerd sea eagles. We launch our second RIB this weekend and will be fully operational from Easter.

Subject: 2008 trips start
Date: 09th February 2008
Half term approaches and the weather forecast is for a sunny week. We have a RIB on the water and will be sailing at 1145 and 1430 daily subject to demand. We are confident there will be plenty of wildlife about. We tend to find more otter at this time of the year. Dress up warmly, bring hats and gloves. Just telephone us on 01852 300003.
After the half term week we will operate midweek subject to sufficient demand and every weekend. The ticket office will open open daily from 15th March

Subject: Crew Required
Date: 25th January 2008
We are actively seeking crew to work with us for the 2008 season. Whilst concentrating on our boat tours there will be work ashore during the quieter periods of the season. Please telephone or e mail us for further details
Training starts 8th March 2008. Season ends 11th November.

WE EXPECT TO LAUNCH A BOAT AGAIN ON 8TH FEB WEATHER PERMITTING. (Last night the shipping forecast for Hebrides was violent storm 11 and the wind did blow. It is best the boats stay ashore on their trailers for the moment.)

Subject: Island Man and BBC
Date: 10th December 2007
It may be December but we are still operating. Radio 4's TODAY programme is to feature Andy Strangeway - known as island man due to his passion for Scottish Islands and his record of spending one night in every one of the Scottish islands over 40 hectares (all 161 of them). We whisked them out to the Garvellachs this morning in glorious sunshine. Pick up is tomorrow in what is predicted to be Force 6 winds.
Information on Scottish islands see www.island-man.co.uk

Subject: Red Deer Rut started
Date: 29th September 2007
September was pretty windy and wet but the weather now appears to have settled once again. The red deer rut has now started in earnest on the shores of Scarba and Jura. The stags look magnificent and have taken to their stands bellowing at each other. As we view from the sea we are not seen as a threat by the deer, they just carry on as normal. Something not to be missed

Subject: Scotsman Newspaper
Date: 03rd August 2007
Unbeknown to us Sea.fari Adventures Oban was recommended as the second best Visitor Attraction in Scotland by The Scotsman newspaper. It was a customer who commented earlier this week. We have been in touch with The Scotsman who have confirmed this. We are delighted to receive such a high profile rating and are proud of our team of staff who work with us on delivering the product.
