ALL OUR TOURS ARE WILDLIFE FOCUSSED

CORRYVRECKAN WILDLIFE

Corryvreckan WhirlpoolA fantastic general wildlife tour culminating in a visit to the Infamous Gulf Of Corryvreckan, home to the World’s Third Largest Whirlpool. Our expert guides will identify and offer detailed information on all the wildlife found in the area. Species in the water include common seal, atlantic grey seal, harbour porpoise, bottlenose dolphin, minke whale and otter.
On the island there are red deer, fallow deer, feral goats along with some surprising smaller animals and vegetation. In the air many species of seabirds are common but we keep a close lookout for buzzard, golden eagle and increasingly the white tailed sea eagle. Commentary also includes both the natural history and folklore of the area.

WHALE WATCHING

Due to the exceptional high number of minke whales sightings and requests from customers we now offer limited dedicated (3 hour) whale watching tours. Our boats will speed you to the whale 'hotspots' and we will spend time whale watching, recording our sightings as requested by Research Organisations. Because our fleet of boats are out on the water daily skippers are aware of what is happening in the area. All our whale watching trips are specifically timed to offer the best chance of success. Please phone 01852 300003 or e mail for dates and times.

WHIRLPOOL SPECIALS

We are often asked for trips to see the whirlpool in all its glory. We are happy to do this providing weather conditions and tides allow. (We depart if the tide height is 3.9m or above). Wildlife sightings in these conditions may be limited but the state of the whirlpools perhaps more than compensates. Please phone 01852 or e mail for dates and times.

THE GARVELLACH ISLANDS

The Garvellach chain of islands offer an unique experience for a short marine wildlife tour around these fascinating islands followed by a walk on Eileach na Naiombh (known locally as the Holy Isle). Watch out for minke whale, porpoise, seals, deer, seabirds and much more.
Land in the same bay as used by St Brendan in 542 AD (and St Columba some 21 years or so later). We offer a short guided tour of the early Christian ruins. Climb to the island's summit for a fantastic panorama stretching from Mull through Colonsay to Islay and Jura or identify land based wildlife and vegetation.

Time ashore is well in excess of 1 hour. Bring a drink, a snack etc. as well as your camera and binoculars. Waterproofs for walking whilst ashore may be sensible depending on the weather/ground conditions.
